Accounting for e-commerce brands
Gateways, marketplaces, couriers, returns, inventory and GST — reconciled into one set of books you can trust, every month.
CASE STUDY
Taking over a multi-channel D2C brand's books and GST
An Indian direct-to-consumer food brand selling online, on Amazon and through its own outlets, with books in Zoho Books
The challenge
Sales and cash arrived through many channels (payment gateways, courier COD and marketplace payouts), bank feeds into the books were not working, and GST had to be filed across several state registrations.
What we did
- Took over the books and set up access to every gateway, courier, marketplace and bank account
- Reconciled payment-gateway settlements and courier COD for the full year
- Monthly marketplace sales imports and GST filings for each state registration
The result
The brand's books, channel reconciliations and multi-state GST filings are now run by WeareZO in Zoho Books.

Choosing an inventory system for a high-volume Shopify seller
A multi-store Shopify brand using third-party warehouses in several countries, worked through its US accounting firm
With several Shopify stores, multiple 3PL locations and high monthly order volumes, cost of goods sold, inventory on the balance sheet, landed costs and purchase orders were hard to keep accurate.
- Assessed the setup and recommended an inventory management system (Zoho Inventory, US edition) to fix COGS accuracy, inventory-to-balance-sheet reconciliation, landed cost allocation and PO tracking
- Defined who owns what: the client's team keeps raising POs and goods receipts, while the accounting side owns landed cost allocation and 3PL reconciliation
Result: The client and its accounting firm have a reviewed inventory-system recommendation with a clear split of responsibilities.
